George-Little Rock School District achieves 100 percent graduation rate
The Iowa Department of Education released the state’s 2025 graduation rates for high schools in districts throughout the state, and George-Little Rock Community School District is one of 26 districts throughout the state that have a 100 percent graduation rate. The graduation rates of each of Lyon County’s three school districts are greater than the state average of 88.8 percent.
Graduation rates show the percentage of students who have been able to complete high school in four years without dropping out of school. George-Little Rock’s graduation rate of 100 percent is an improvement from 95 percent last year, and 91 percent in 2023. Graduation rates for Central Lyon and West Lyon are 94 percent and 98 percent respectively.
“It’s heartening to see these numbers; they reflect what I know about George-Little Rock students,” said Amanda Miller, superintendent of the district. “G-LR is a small school district that has students with an incredible work ethic. They have an eye to the future, and they push themselves to become productive citizens, whether they join the work force right after graduation, or if they choose to go on to college. These numbers are a good sign of what is to come for Lyon County. Employers in the area can be sure that students coming out of our schools have what it takes to succeed.”
