Next District Superintendent

April 17, 2024

GEORGE, IA — The George-Little Rock Community School District School Board has named Amanda Miller as the district’s next superintendent.

As middle school and high school principal in the Coon Rapids-Bayard CSD, Miller has prioritized mental health programming, in addition to leading the district’s emergency response and management team in reviewing, updating, and practicing district response. She has worked to ensure a strong school-to-work program by partnering with local community colleges throughout her tenure at Coon Rapids-Bayard.

Miller holds a master’s degree in educational counseling and is anticipating a specialist degree in educational leadership with superintendent licensure from Drake University this May. Prior to her current position, she served as high school counselor and student services coordinator in the East Sac County CSD. Miller began her career as a community prevention consultant and education coordinator at New Opportunities Inc. in Carroll, Iowa.

“”I am truly honored to join the Mustangs family as Superintendent of George-Little Rock,” said Miller. “I am committed to upholding our district’s mission of providing quality education by promoting lifelong learning. It’s clear to me that the GLR communities take great pride in their students, staff and facilities and I look forward to fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally..”

Board members worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the search. Miller interviewed with interview groups consisting of students, parents, teachers, and community members on April 16.

Miller will officially begin leading the George-Little Rock Community School District on July 1, 2024.
