GLR Parents:
During the past three years, the George Kiwanis Club has sponsored a supplemental weekend food program for youth within our school district. The first year, we actually sent weekend food packages home with the children and last year, we switched to a voucher system which allowed each family to shop for items at either the Total Stop market in George or at Community Foods in Little Rock.
The George Kiwanis Club will be hosting the program again this year and we will be using a voucher program similar to what was used last year. The program is open to all youth within our school district without restriction; our only desire is that those who sign up for the program use it on a weekly basis.
How the program works:
Those who registered for the program will have family vouchers prepared that will be mailed to each home at the beginning of each month. There will be a voucher for each week and that voucher will be dated. You will have four days to use the voucher (Friday through Monday). After that, the store will no longer honor it.
On each voucher, there will be a list of items that you can pick up at either store. Once you’ve collected the items you want, take them to the checkout along with your signed voucher.
There is no cost to the program.
Be assured that all registration forms will remain confidential.
