On March 15, 2020, Governor Reynolds recommended that all Iowa schools close for four weeks. At George-Little Rock we decided to continue to have school for two days in order to allow parents to make arrangements for their children’s care. It also allowed teachers to meet with their students to make some sort of arrangements. George-Little Rock Schools also made a decision to close for two weeks rather than the recommended four weeks and reevaluate the situation as the return date of April 1, 2020 approached.
In the time since our closure, the situation regarding COVID-19 has not improved. Therefore, the George-Little Rock Schools will close for an additional two weeks with an anticipated return date of April 14, 2020. The State of Iowa has created a Continuous Learning Task Force to provide recommendations to districts on how we can work with students during this closure.
