Computer Applications

COMPUTER I                                      

Semester Course-1 credit

Grade Level: 9, required

Prerequisite: none

This is an introductory course that will allow students to learn the basic programs within Microsoft Office.  Students will learn how to use and create various types of documents by using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

 

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS                          

Semester Course-1 credit

Grade Level: 10-12, elective

Prerequisite: Computer I

This course will build computer knowledge by including advanced application programs of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and desktop publishing Microsoft Publisher.

 

COMPUTER MULTIMEDIA

Semester Course-1 credit

Grade Level: 11-12, elective

Prerequisite: Computer I

This course will build computer multimedia skills through the use of Web 2.0 tools including social media networks, blogs, wikis, blogs, and movie editing software.

 

Web Design

Full Year Course-2 credits

Grade Level: 11-12, elective

Prerequisite:  Computer I, Computer Multimedia, Computer Applications

This is an upper level, hands on computer class where students will learn how to create html code and  use web design including Microsoft Expression Web and Adobe Creative Suite 5. Students will also help create athletic videos, as well as the senior graduation video.

Interactive Multimedia

Semester Course- 1 credit

Grade Level: 11-12, electice

Prerequisite:  Computer I, Computer II

This is an upper level class where students will learn computer programming and code through designing and creating video games and animation. This will be done through a variety of programs and will allow students to create, edit, and play their games to be published online for others to play as well.
