On Saturday, November 12 the GLR Middle School TAG Students participated in Mock Trial in Rock Rapids. This year’s case was about a grandmother being charged for giving her granddaughter too much medicine, causing her to die. Both teams had to present both sides of the case and compete against teams from Northwest Iowa. They worked for two months preparing their case, and did an excellent job on the day of the competition. Nominated for outstanding attorney were Ashely DeBoer (8th) and Abby VanderLaan (7th). Nominated for outstanding witness were Clarissa Gerken (8th) and Spencer Carstensen (8th). The teams were coached by Melia Winter and volunteer attorney-coach Tom Weerheim.
